Meet the Artist
Hi! I'm Gizelle — I am from sunny Bradenton, Florida and I graduated from the University of Alabama in December of 2019 ( Roll Tide!) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel + Textiles, with a concentration in Apparel Design. I am obsessed with fashion, art, dogs (especially my 7 year old Lab Retriever mix), and the beach. When I'm not making illustrations, you can find me by the pool, at the beach, or shopping at local boutiques.
How It All Started
I discovered my passion for digital art in January of 2020 when I taught myself how to make illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and my MacBook Air track pad. I started out by drawing my models in garments that I designed for my senior fashion show. To get some more exposure and practice, I then began to draw friends, relatives, and pets. In April, I decided to get serious about making illustrations and invest in an iPad and Apple Pencil. After some encouragement from my family, I decided to put myself out there and advertise on Instagram and Facebook where I received lots of positive feedback and commission requests. Since then, I have turned what was originally a hobby + passion project into a small business, which I could have not done without my supporters and followers. I have grown so much as an artist since January and have pushed myself out of my artistic comfort zone. I am really thankful for this opportunity to do what I love.
